About ShAIkhy

ShAIkhy (شيخي — "My Sheikh") is a free AI Islamic knowledge engine. Ask a question in Arabic or English; we search 440,000+ passages from the Quran, hadith, tafsir, and classical fiqh — then answer with every claim verified back to its source.

The name

ShAIkhy is شيخي, “my sheikh” — the scholar you turn to with a question — with AI written into the middle of the word. It is pronounced “shay-khee”. You will also see it written Shaikhy, Sheikhy, Shaikhi, Sheikhi or Shaykhi; they all refer to this site. Why

Most Islamic chatbots today either hallucinate scripture or refuse everything. ShAIkhy takes the middle path: retrieve real classical sources, present multiple madhab positions side-by-side, and never fabricate. Where the sources don't reach, we say so plainly and redirect to qualified scholars.

  • 440,520 passages from 229 classical works (about 1,500 volumes), in Arabic with English where a translation exists.
  • The complete Quran: all 6,236 ayat, indexed one ayah per passage.
  • 46,000+ hadith narrations from the six canonical collections, Muwatta Malik and Musnad Ahmad; 37,000+ carry a scholarly grading (al-Albani, Shu'ayb al-Arna'ut, Darussalam), and disputed gradings are shown as disputed.
  • Fiqh across all four madhabs: 80 works, including the commentaries where positions are actually argued; 29 tafsir works; 35 aqeedah works; seerah and narrator biographies.
  • 56,711 dictionary entries from 9 classical Arabic lexicons (Lisan al-Arab, Taj al-Arus, al-Qamus al-Muhit, al-Muhkam, al-Sihah, Kitab al-Ayn, Asas al-Balagha, Mufradat al-Quran) plus hadith and usul terminology.
  • A knowledge graph of 58,278 nodes: 34,043 hadith, 23,819 narrators, scholars and their teacher–student links.
  • 74.5% correct in English and 73.9% in Arabic on the IslamicFaithQA benchmark under the Fanar SimpleQA protocol (500 questions per language, July 2026). The same model with retrieval switched off scores 55.1%.
